Ahava, meaning 'Love' in Hebrew, is a multi award winning
performer from the San Francisco Bay Area. She is well known
for her Egyptian style, grace, captivating stage presence and
crowd pleasing drum solos!
Ahava began to study belly dance at the age of sixteen and has
since become a sought after performer. Her first belly dance
instructor was well known Tribal dance artist Frederique David.
And she later went to study American Cabaret with Leea Aziz.
Throughout her dance career Ahava has won many titles.
Some include the 2006 Queen of Raks Sharqi, 2007 Egyptian
Champion and most recently, the 2008 Belly Dancer of the
Year. She has even traveled to Cairo to the Ahlan Wa Sahlan
Festival, where she studied with the top Egyptian dancers and
was invited to perform in the famous closing gala ceremony,
where she danced for an audience of nearly 2,000.
A true rising star, Ahava has been featured in many
performance DVDs including By Dancers for Dancers Volumes
2 & 3, Dance Dance Celebration and Shape up and Hip Out.

WildCard BellyDance is a professional Tribal Style belly dance
troupe based in Sonoma County, California. Composed of 9
women who have danced together for years, they are well
known for their colorful and energetic performances. Their
format is based upon synchronized group improvisation, each
and every performance is unique and ever changing, it is "art
created in the moment". They teach weekly classes in Rohnert
Park.

Born and raised in California, Adriana has been dancing
professionally for 15 years. After many years of ballet and
jazz classes, she began exploring the movement and
musicality of Latin, Brazilian, and middle eastern styles of
dance. Today, she is an avid student of all styles of dance
and has shared her knowledge as a teacher with a strong
foundation of core movement, foundation and musical
interpretation. Currently based in the San Francisco bay
area, Adriana performs at Persian, Indian and Arabic
nightclubs in the San Francisco Bay Area and in tours
through out the U.S., teaching Brazilian, belly dance, and the
"art of make up" workshops. She is available for booking
performances, workshops, lectures, and events, locally as
well as nationally and overseas.

Julie Marques CLMA has been teaching Bollywood dance for
nearly 10 years. She grew up to Carribbean tunes with her family
but got sidetracked to Southeast Asia. She spent 2.5 years
studying and living in Nepal and India where she studied
classical and folk dance and was introduced to Bollywood. She
has a background in Tai Chi, dance, theatre and Somatic
Movement. She teaches Bollywood dance because it never fails
to make her laugh, smile and want to move! Julie is founder &

Andrea
Andrea is a belly dancer from San Francisco. She fell in love
with belly dance in 1995 and since then has had the privilege
of traveling to Cairo to train with some of the best
instructors in Egypt. From her gorgeous one-of-a-kind
costumes to her fluid dancing, Andrea's performance will
sweep you away and make you feel the joy and passion of
Arabic music. Performer, Instructor, and choreographer,
she also promotes the monthly event Raq the House at
Tannourine in San Mateo.

For over 15 years Melanie has been training, performing and
teaching dance for a variety of audiences around the world.
Melanie trained in modern dance at the Alvin Ailey School in
New York, Mills College in Oakland and received a degree in
dance and cultural anthropology from San Francisco State
University in 2002.
She is the creator of the Mindful Belly Dance format that
incorporates Mindfulness Meditation, Qigong and other
somatic and mind/body disciplines for increased ease in
movement and sustained energy.
Melanie is currently working on her certification in Chinese
Energetic Medicine from the Acupuncture and Integrative
Medicine College in Berkeley, California. She is additionally
trained in Ideokinesis by Evangel King in Berkeley, who studied
directly under Andre Bernard, one of the key advancers of
Ideokinesis in the 20th century.

Troupe Tahiya performs a unique blend of classical and
modern bellydance throughout the Bay Area. The troupe’s
Director, Tahiya has been performing the art of
bellydancing for over 10 years. She has performed
regularly with dance groups in both traditional folkloric
and modern cabaret middle-eastern style of dance. Her
degree in International Relations of the Middle East and
her extensive traveling experience in the Middle East give
her a special and unique understanding, appreciation, and
ability to express middle-eastern music. She has won
Miss America of the Bellydance 1994 and was also
crowned the title of Bellydancer of the Universe 1997.
Tahiya has performed regularly at middle-eastern
restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area, and she is an
esteemed bellydance instructor and Choreographer.

Terry is a long time performer, instructor and student of
bellydance. She has had the honor of performing for foreign
dignitaries, Arab Royalty, and well known TV and sports
celebrities.
Terry has studied dance with some of the greatest
instructors in America and abroad. Currently Terry teaches
weekly classes at World Dance Fitness in San Anselmo, Ca.

The Dancers of Janan:“A younger dancer may be able
to put her soul into the work, but an older dancer’s soul
is the work”.
Every woman in this group is over the age of 40. The
majority of them have been studying and performing
Middle Eastern dance for over 20 years each,
collectively amounting to 160 plus years of skill and
knowledge. Simply by standing on the stage, and
raising an arm, she is able to conjure worlds beyond
the realm of daily experience. Directed by TerriAnne
